I have never once checked the dates as I get through these pouches with an almost indecent haste. I use the scoop that came with another chocolate product (basically a kilo of choccy dust in a cardboard tube) and that is the equivalent of around six level coffeespoons of flakes - any more and, for me, the taste is negatively affected. Squirty cream is an optional extra. I use my Royal Copenhagen Colour Contrast mugs, the handle-less design and silicone sleeve provides a truly comforting hold: the mugs that came with my Velvetiser were awful and are used to measure bird food. I have arthritic hands so having the Velvetiser to do the hard work was a must. I bought mine direct from HC as it was Black Friday and they offered me a further £20 off, it would have been rude not to avail myself of their kindness. I think about 6 heaped teaspoonfuls is recommended which is about 10 go 20 cups approx.
