I bought it exactly 2 weeks ago to the day, just checked it, and the crystals are pink so I need to recharge it. Maybe since I just started using it, the stuff I have in the safe has some moisture in it so possibly it had to work a little harder to get it drier. I'm not sure how effective it will be at removing humidity/moisture from within my gun safe but it is pretty idiot proof in terms of use and effectiveness ... the beads change color when they have absorbed too much moisture, and they need to be dried out. And that is just a matter of putting the entire cannister in the oven and then good as new and back in the safe.
