Reencle doesn’t offer a “booster” microbe product and after 2 yeats the soil in the Reencle needed the following: * Jumpstart bacterial activity * Expand microbial diversity * Handle protein/fat inputs more reliably * Reduce/eliminate occasional odor (key signal of anaerobic imbalance) After some product research, I decided on the following products to address these goals: As the Primary Booster, I chose Roebic Bacterial Compost Accelerator (model CA-2.5-12). For Secondary Stabilizers, I chose: * Bokashi bran (1–2 tablespoons occasionally) to handle meat scraps. * worm castings (a small handful periodically) as a “reset tool” when odors occur. One Insight Most People Miss (Important): Compost boosters aren’t just about “adding bacteria,” they also: * Supply enzymes + nutrients that help bacteria multiply * Help restore the carbon:nitrogen balance indirectly Even if I’m consistent about these products, the microbial ecosystem can still drift over time—especially in a closed appliance. RESULTS: So far, this plan has been working perfectly! No issues at all. Reencle’s compost starter product is $65. This is the product used to get a new Reencle started. Their one bag does it all, but it’s a one-time, one use product.
