However, so far the line seems to be fed out without having to stop and do this manually, something the previous version did have issues with. It's important to buy replacement spools with the line, as buying line and manually winding it onto a spool never helps the auto feed work correctly. The cutting width is a welcome 3cm wider than the previous one too. All in all a fabulous, powerful, quality tool, which I hope I get at least five years out of, like the last one. The previous model had a wheel which you used to adjust the power from Low to High and all in between. This unit only has two settings low or high, this means that you end up having to use more power in some instance's than you want to or is necessary. If Black & Decker read these reviews, please bring back the wheel. The head of this unit can be rotated for edging as is standard on these machines. I once many years ago had one (Different make) that you could change the angle of the head, I found this very use full and it also made some area's alot easier to do and reduced strain on you arms and back, unfortunately none of the major brands do this and it is a pity. If the green light is flashing, it does sound connected though. Check how many bars have lit up, and turn it off for now. The charger won’t work if your battery overheats (through work or this -) Best of luck. **Q: Does the bl2036 h4 battery fit this?** A: As far as I know Black and Decker only make one 36V battery. I am sure the battery you mention is 36V - that is what the 36 in the product code means, so this battery will fit your 36V strimmer. Compatible batteries can also be found online, often a lot cheaper and also higher capacity - the 20 in the product code means 2.0 Amp hrs, and you can get a 3.0 Amp hr compatible battery battery cheaper than the authentic B&D 2.0 one. They have rethought the battery position, god alone knows why (It wasnt broke...why fix it?!) Feels a little clumsy, but maybe just me being used to the previous "Drop handle" design..time will tell, but its hardly likely to be deal breaker. Speed control is now a "Hi-Lo" switch. As I always ran my others constantly on high, this is also a difference that makes no difference. Cutting width has grown by a couple of centimetres, (Yippee!) In all other respects, this is still the best cordless machine in the market. (Lost a point on "Lightweight", as still not sure about new battery position) Problem...If , like me you own the lawn mower attachment for the 36v, the wider blade cover at 33cm will not fit! They have also slightly redesigned the head so it no longer locks in place, even if you are innovative enough to swap the cover for the older, smaller one!
