Review: Best sound for the money! - I just replaced the rear deck speakers of my 99 Mazda 626 with these speakers, and I have to say that for the price you wont find anything better! Installation was relatively easy (keep in mind this is the first time I have actually replaced car speakers) and Pioneer was even kind enough to include screws and wiring. The speakers themselves are great. The bass is tight and strong, but don't expect the same quality as from a purpose-built subwoofer. The high frequencies are neither tinny nor piercing, and the mid-range sounds smooth and natural. I look forward to putting the 6" x 8" 3-way units from Pioneer into the doors and pairing them with the new head unit for a little extra power. I listen to a whole range if music from regular rock and electronic to brutally mechanical industrial and EBM. No matter what type of music is played it sounds great coming through these speakers! I'd most definitely recommend these to somebody looking for great speakers at a great price. Review: Pioneer 6X9 TS-A6964R 400W - I originally ordered the 270W's(TS-A6963R) but luckily received these by mistake from the company. These were actually on sale and a little cheaper than the lesser watt 270's I paid for. I called them and they immediately credited me the difference! Nicely done Discounts Jungle. I do not know how the 270's sound but I put these in my Protege that still has the factory fronts and a new Pioneer pull-out stereo and they sound AWESOME!!! It could just be that after having to jam out to only the fronts for over a year I don't know what to expect but I have let friends listen and they approve as well. Only caution is to expect 'possible' problems if you decide to mount them UNDER the back dash...the tweeters are a little raised, by design, and may rub on the fake speaker grills. An easy fix is to cut the fake ones out and replace them with the cage that comes with the speakers(looks nice). I did not but, to each his own. Easy install..took 20 minutes including removal of the originals.
