Review: Amazing camera for the price - I recently decided to upgrade my home security system and after a fair bit of research, I landed on the Amcrest 5MP POE Camera (MODEL: IP5M-D1188EB-28MM). I'll be honest, what initially drew me in was the combination of high-resolution video and the POE capability, but this camera has exceeded my expectations in almost every way.Firstly, the setup was a breeze. I'm not the most tech-savvy individual, and the thought of installing a security camera was daunting. However, the POE (Power Over Ethernet) feature simplified everything. It was merely a matter of running a single cable for both power and data. Note that you'll need a POE injector or switch, which isn't included, but that was a minor additional purchase. The camera's design is also quite intuitive, and mounting it was straightforward, thanks to the detailed instructions provided.Using the camera is just as easy. The Amcrest Surveillance Pro software is user-friendly, and I had it up and running on my PC in no time. The camera is also compatible with Blue Iris Professional, which I might explore in the future. I opted for local storage on a MicroSD card (not included), but it's nice to know that cloud storage and NAS options are available. The video quality, both during the day and at night, is outstanding. The 5-megapixel resolution delivers crystal-clear images, and the 98ft night vision has been incredibly reliable. I was particularly impressed with the camera's 103° viewing angle, which covers a wide area of my backyard without any blind spots.Durability is another aspect where the Amcrest camera shines. Its IP67 weatherproof rating has already been put to the test with several rainy days, and it hasn't skipped a beat. The IK10 vandal resistance gives me peace of mind that it can withstand some rough treatment, although, thankfully, I haven't had to test that out.Lastly, I want to touch on the value. This camera is an investment in peace of mind, and considering its performance, build quality, and the ease of setup and use, I find it to be well worth the price. In conclusion, the Amcrest 5MP POE Camera (IP5M-D1188EB-28MM) has been a fantastic addition to my home security system. Its high-quality video, easy installation, and robust build quality make it an excellent choice for anyone looking to enhance their home's security. Highly recommended!
