(I bought for home use.) *by A***. on 18 June 2024* I bought this wheel washing brush for cleaning my home and other items, but I can offer some insight on how it might perform solely as a wheel brush. I'll sub-title this review so you can just read the part that's most helpful for you. WHEEL/TIRE CLEANING BRUSH: If you're looking for a brush solely to wash your car wheels, I think this item would be "decent" to "good" for the job. It's not going to be the "best" brush you can find (for those who take seriously extra care and meticulous detailing of their vehicles). But it'll get the job done fine for the average car owner, and it will likely last a very long time. It's very sturdy. It *seems* like it can withstand many missed tosses across a driveway/garage without cracking. However, I can't confirm because I haven't thrown this thing around, and I don't plan to. Just know, it's solid. I already own another wheel brush. I've had it for about 2 yrs now. I've used it about 3 times to really wash down my wheels/tires... and maybe 15-20 times of very light use while rinsing and wiping debris, dirt, pollen, or ice salt off my car. I briefly compared it with this new brush. (Note: I did not compare them by using them to wash my vehicle. I visually compared them side by side before briefly using them on smooth tile and textured shower surfaces.) My old brush has a much longer handle, a similar sturdy body (I think it's the same hard, durable plastic), and the surface area of the bristles is about the same size as this brush. The bristles on my old brush are a bit softer, denser, and about a centimeter longer. Therefore, it was able to hold more quantity of soapy and clean water. It created a slightly smoother lather and maintained it just a bit longer than the new brush... but the difference was not so much that I'd think the new brush was an inferior product. The price definitely makes it a value. Honestly, both brushes performed well and each had their pros and cons. This new brush has a bit more scrubbing power than my old brush and would be far better for tougher cleaning situations. I do prefer to use my old brush to wash my vehicle wheels and tires. However, I would use this one when needed, too. My older one is just more convenient for me (the longer handle accomodates my back issues and helps me reach areas under my vehicle when needed). I also feel it has more appropriate bristles for the type of cleaning I need. My vehicle is average and fairly new - nothing fancy or ultra pricey. The tires and wheels are the same. So, it needs no special treatment when washing - only regular maintenance and to avoid getting damaged. It gets very light use, so it just needs a gentle wash every so often. Some may actually prefer the shorter handle and slightly stiffer bristles of this brush. I definitely could see the stiffer bristles being handy if I were to have to wash dried off mud from my tires. (Note: The tips of the bristles have been softened to prevent scratching - as is typical of any wheel cleaning brush. However, the bristles are both generally stiffer and not as soft-tipped as the ones on my other brush. If you want something "ultra delicate," this may not be the brush for you. I don't think it would cause surface scratching if used appropriately, though.) HOUSEHOLD CLEANING BRUSH: I actually bought this brush to add to my home "deep cleaning and dirty jobs" kit. I'm so pleased with it! It's the perfect medium to slightly firm scrubbing brush. It has much longer and denser bristles than most household cleaning brushes you'd find at a home goods store. It handles jobs where the surfaces are too delicate for hard bristled scouring brushes or steel wool pads, the messes are too stubborn for sponges and scrubbing pads, the surfaces need deeper cleaning than a regular mop or lightly bristled brush can provide, and when the job involves consistently using decent to large amounts of sudsy or clean water. I've used this brush to deep clean my bathrooms, linoleum floors, patio walls, dog kennels, old plastic coolers, and a bunch of giant tote bins that were covered in sticky grime. It was awesome for thoroughly removing soap scum from my shower surfaces. The tote bins I cleaned were previously used in a restaurant. They were coated in what seemed to be a heavy build up of grease - amongst other things. The heavy duty green scrubbing pads - like you'd find on the back of a kitchen sponge, but slightly stronger - would quickly fall apart and get stuck in the grime... just making more of a mess. I needed a dense brush for the job. I had one that was working fairly well, but it so small that it almost seemed not worth the effort to try to salvage the storage bins. This brush was prefect for the job. I just used vinegar, baking soda, and dish soap (the same items I tried when using the green scrubbing pads, rags, and other brushes). The grime came off so much easier and clean up was fast. No bristles fell out or gunked up. The brush was easy to clean between using. I set it outside or hung it in my shower to air dry after cleaning the bristles. I have not tried using the brush with any ultra harsh chemicals, so I can't speak to whether or not it can handle anything stronger than your typical household multi-purpose cleaning solutions. I haven't even used it with cleaning products that contain bleach. I mostly used it with dish detergent, baking soda, washing soda, and/or cleaning vinegar to remove heavy or thick messes. Then I used a sponge or something else if I felt I needed to disinfect or polish the surface afterwards. I could go on and on about how I've used this brush and how helpful it has been. But I think I've made my point. It's not going to be the right cleaning tool for every task, but it's definitely great for certain jobs. The short handle makes it easier to use/control in tighter spaces. And this thing will certainly last a long time. I'll be in the lookout for one with a longer handle (if its as decently priced as this brush) to make it easier for me to scrub the top of my patio walls. (It's fairly soft tipped, so I've had no issues with paint chipping off my old house.) For the cheap price and good quality, it's worth having this brush in your cleaning kit.
