eXtreme Wire Brand 14 AWG Polyethylene Insulated Multi-Purpose Construction Quality Solid Core Wire  Our wire is insulated in a much preferred, more reliable material than the PVC jacket you typically see on competitors' wire selections. Some of the benefits of polyethylene over PVC are:   Polyethylene is 28% lighter than PVC  PVC is more susceptible to compromise from moisture (humidity, rain, submersion), chemicals (fungicides, herbicides, fertilizers), abrasion, and cut-through (damage from crushing by rocks, heavy equipment, etc.)  Both PVC and polyethylene perform excellent in a range of temperatures, but polyethylene is superior in cold weather applications.  Polyethylene is much less likely to sustain damage from lightning/high voltage surges, due to a higher insulation resistance rating.  The nylon coating over the PVC jacket wire is quickly compromised with water, and can break down quickly. The PE jacket is waterproof and can be submerged without issue. Don't settle for the lower quality THHN wire, which will only last 1/3 to 1/2 the life of the building it's run to feed. Using our eXtreme Wire brand wire will allow you the peace of mind, knowing that you won't have to repair or replace this wire until it's time to replace the building.
