Review: Solid connections in a compact block - When building electronic gadgets I never want a front-panel component (switches, displays, etc.) directly wired to the I/O pins on the processor. I want to have the guts and the surface separable. I used to make custom connectors -- molex or dupont -- but handling those little pins has become more difficult with age. A terminal block is a good substitute, if space is available and it's not necessary to make quick connects/disconnects. This product is as small as I've found. 24ga braided wire fastens securely; nothing has worked loose with handling. It's easy to cut off the number of terminals you need, so there's no waste. Functional, compact, good value, would buy again.

These undergo large blasts from black powder explosions and are still capable of being used over and over. Some of these have undergone 10 explosions and have still worked. We epoxy these to fiberglass bulkheads and have never had an issue with them connecting the wires we need to install. They are very easy to use and easy to utilize with a small screwdriver and can be reused so many times. You get hundreds for the price and they last a very long time!

**Q: are there shorting bars for these things?**
A: Depends on what you mean by shorting bars?

**Q: For anyone who has secured the terminal strip to a surface, what size/length of fastener did you use?**
A: You can use #4 3/4 inch screws.

**Q: What gauge wires will these fit?**
A: Bell wire up to 12 gauge.

**Q: Will these work w fat 12 AWG stranded wire for 12v outdoor lighting, or is this only for smaller wire?**
A: No.  The largest wire this will take is 14A.  12Ga wire is 3+mm, this is 2.5mm.   Of course with stranded you could always over twist or cut a few strands of to jam it in.  I wouldn’t recommend it.  The other issue is these are rated for 10a.  If you are using 12ga wire near capacity you could melt them.   And finally, out-door means corrosion is an issue.   I would suggest an automotive or wet/damp rated block instead of these.    I use these successfully for a dry location outdoor block for sprinkler valves.  After a few years I throw them away and replace because they corrode and don’t loosen any more.
