Fully charged out of the box and was able to charge my iPhone (5c) and my wife's iPhone (4) no problem with the included charging adaptors. Plugged the USB cable from my GPS and it powered the unit without batteries and then also charged the batteries when they were installed.PROS: Easy enough to use right out of the box. Actually works as advertised. Rugged, outdoor case looks like it will take normal wear/tear of hanging from a backpack when hiking. Integrated carabiner hole instead of a flimsy cloth/metal clip like other brands.CONS: Directions are printed really small and hard to read. Not much to them though so they really don't tell you a lot.Directions do state it will take 24 hours of sunlight to charge the battery. Carabiner that comes in the package is too small to actually fit through the carabiner hole. Other than that it's a very nice charger, I'm able to bring it and let me and a couple of friends charge their phones when we're out at the river or a night on the town. Solid construction and rugged enough you don't have to worry if you drop it.
