This carrier is all fabric, we bought it thinking it was airline approved and we were told it wasn’t. We had to Force it under the seat to be able to fly with our bird. The only way we managed to make it fit was by having it sideways. **Q: Is this too pig for a parakeet? I’m worried his head could get stuck in the air holes.** A: I disagree with the other reply. There are holes for the bowls and perch on the sides. There's also a row of holes at the front base of the bag, and on top. I'm not sure if those are safe for parakeet or cockatiel heads or little feet. It might be safest to cover them somehow. Maybe hand sewing a small fabric or mesh patch. **Q: Did anyone receive the advertised shoulder strap with this bag? Mine is missing from my package.** A: Mine came with the shoulder strap, perch and 2 bowls.
