If you can get it going correctly, and that means with very little arm movement just all about grip and wrist and forearm then you'll get the most out of it. I love it and really feel the burn after a short time of using it. I even felt the stiffness and soreness days later as if i had actually used weight resistance. Practice...cause it takes a lil time to learn how to get it going. Use the string it's much easier. You'll get frustrated, but trust me it works. I like to use a glove of some sort because my hand will sweat and then it's impossible to hold on to the thing...fyi.
