I needed to bath in the Colorado River frequently and while not a fan of plunging my soapy body in 49 degree water this collapsible bucket became so handy in filling and using to dump river water on me instead. I could also fill it and leave it to warm up before doing so. We also used it to fill and agitate when washing a few shirts and undergarments too. Since water was always prevalent I can't say it was completely waterproof but to mine eyes I would say it was and I never had a complaint.
