Enough so that there are videos specifically of how to do so on Youtube. My set did some with instructions but they wont prepare you for the torso assembly. I would wait to add the arms, legs, and head to the very end. You are going to have to put the torso into the ball joint of the hips...probably using a cloth to spare wrenching your fingertips off in the process. Afterwards you have a fantastic looking heavily articulated fig. This would not be a good gift for a kid without someone with strong non-arthritic hands nearby to put it together.
