The radius on the half round sides are more subtle than compared to half round files, but with the way they taper to a point I haven't had any trouble making or reaching into smaller or curved spots. For what it's worth, these are a great value for the money in my opinion, especially since you get three. The aren't the highest quality steel as I've noticed a few random teeth have broken off, but it hasn't affected the performance of their ability to cut. With the proper technique I have found I can use these rasps to rough shape/sculpt then clean it up with a 10 inch Bacho # 2 cut half round file and go straight to 220 grit sandpaper from that. They been working nicely so far for what I bought them for, which was mostly to shape and sculpt wooden handles on my knives to avoid having to use a belt sander and which creates a dust storm in my shop. **Q: Can these be used for laminate?** A: based on the "rasp" description I'd say these are too coarse for plastic laminate. try to find a 2 sided laminate file, one face would be like "second cut" for quick removal (be careful with that one, it will quickly remove more than you wanted); the second face is a smooth cut to remove finer amounts of the laminate and the file marks left by the first pass.
