Lasted for less than a year before it would redirect me to the freedompop website and never go anywhere else. Not sure if I had something to do on my account but it could not be done on the hotspot and i messed up my account association and could not figure out how to log in with that account. I use this service for the free data and you always roll the dice with freedompop because you don't know when they will discontinue your hotspot or just quit on you one day. I will get the netgear fuse next direct from freedompop and hopefully it works out of the box as well as this one.

It works! And well.
I bought this because I switched ISPs and lost my free remote WiFi. I was a little skeptical when I first opened the box, but it *does* work. Gets a better 4G signal in my home than my Smartphone. Ran a Kangaroo Mobile Desktop speed test and got 3.28 mbps, not blazing but acceptable. Streaming media to my smartphone didn't fare so well. I had to slow down the connection to 96k to eliminate dropped connections. Again not blazing, but when you consider you get 500MB free each month 96k is about right. The real advantage is that I get better coverage for remote WiFi with FreedomPop (It may be slower, but what good is faster if you can't connect?) than with my previous ISP. One minor complaint: The charging cable that came with it is the cheapest quality I have ever seen. Luckily, I was able to "upgrade" to a better, longer and more flexible coiled cable with the same connectors at my local $.99 store for $1.29. The charger, while it works fine, is in the same class. I'll be looking for a better charger. For this price range I think better quality accessories should be included.Update: I tried a different spot to try to stream video and the results were much better. I was able get a 1.5mbps stream going reliably. As for the USB charger, I had it going all night and the charge indicator still flashed red (not a full charge). In use the unit worked for about 30 minutes before the battery level light changed from green to orange, indicating I wasn't going to get anywhere near the four hour use as stated in the manual. The charger is rated at 1 Amp. I switched to a 2.1 Amp unit that I had used for my iPod and in a relatively short time (about three hours) the battery charge light finally blinked green (a full charge). So I guess I'll be using this charger from now on.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME
Out of the box the device did not power on when connected with it's own power supply. I instead used my phone's charger and it came right on. Went back to the original power supply and it did not power on again.I connected it back to my phone's charger and it powered back on but no signal is being emitted for me to connect to wifi and then complete activation. This is junk and will be returned.I won't even mention the fact that when you select the FREE option on sign up, they charge you $11.98. So much for free, huh?Edited Aug 1: Just for kicks, I purchased another from Walmart and it powered up while connected to its own power supply right away. I activated by phone and the person tried so sell me another hot spot and was relentless. It was activated on the 2GB plan (which I did not ask for). Today I called to downgrade and they told me I have to pay $5.00 to get on the free plan.In every way this company is misleading. I'll be returning this one to Walmart. KeepGo is an alternative that I'll be looking into. You can pay per usage and the data expires after a year. For my extremely limited use, this is preferred.

Successfully using for 10 months
Installed at a lake house where I don't have a reasonable option for Internet. Has been working reliably for 10 months on a 24x7 basis. I did use my own USB power supply. Provides internet connection for sensors and security cameras at the lakehouse, total of 4 devices. I pay $7 a month for 500MB per month. If there is a better option for remote monitoring, would like to know about it.

Accountibility
The device works great, however the company is dishonest billing multiples times in the same month and have even billed me six consecutive times in the same day. You will never talk to a person, but run around back and forth between pre-recorded phone messages and online forums.

Cost of Use Prohibitive
Equipment worked but cost of service was prohibitive. We bought it for our Internet access while traveling in our RV. Switched to another carrier.

I like it!
I was able to set it up pretty easily, and I have good LTE coverage in my neighborhood. I find it works well for me, happy I got it.
