It's very hard for me to be sure since I have what my sleep specialist calls "busy mind" to start the night off. That's where my mind just thinks continuously jumping like crazy from one subject to another making sleep very difficult. That progresses to "evening anxiety" when I realize I'm not getting to sleep and it appears I'm not going to. I can be dead tired when I go to bed and when that busy mind crap starts I'm wide awake. 2 of these along with 3 Valerian extract. 2 Kava extract and 1 L-Tryptophan at least relax me enough to be able to drift off with a minimum help from a benzodiazepine. I'll give 5 stars to the first natural sleep aid i find that gets me off the drug all together but for now this is as good as it gets. One thing that bugs me about most all of this sleep aids is the GABA (gamma-Aminobutyric acid) they add. GABA is ineffective whether taken orally or even injected! It simply cannot cross the blood-brain barrier; it is only synthesized in the brain. Look it up in Wikipedia for one or just "Google" it. I'm sure the manufacturers of these products know this but add GABA as a gimmick.
