The white paper comes off?** A: I have covered a LOT of books using this Brodart acetate. You place a dust jacket in between the plastic and the white interior sleeve. You then fold in the vertical direction so the height matches the spine of book. Then fold inside the front and rear covers and trim as necessary w scissors. I had a book once with no dust jacket, so I scanned the cover, printed out, and used that as a dust jacket. The answer to your question is can you cut the paper out and just use the acetate plastic. Yes, it should function pretty much the same way. You can't cut the paper out all the way (it is glued into the seam), but you can create new folds as you adjust it to the height of the spine.
