I rinse the parsley very well before using. No peppermint or clove smell lingers, so it must be water soluble. It kills the aphids on contact. Dead aphids are easily rinsed off (just don't tell my family). **Q: Will it kill gnats?** A: It goes. And it deters them from coming back. Will need to really regularly. Follow suggested application direction on lable. It has been even more successful with killing ants long term in my garden pots. **Q: will it kill aphids on the rose plants ? is it safe to use on roses** A: I had aphids on my Zz plant and purchased this because I wanted to be sure my dog would be okay. Unfortunately, after aver a month of treatment this did not kill or get rid of my aphid issue. I’m sure it will be okay for roses, but I didn’t have luck with it getting rid of the bugs. **Q: Does this kill mosquitos? Looking for a pet friendly yard spray** A: No but that brand has a mosquito fogger spray that works for me when I’m out gardening in my yard!!! A lot of reviews said to save your money and make it yourself, which is possible, but at this price, to me it was worth my time to just buy it and have it work.
