The buckle lands right on my shoulder. I wish the craftsman would have offset the buckle, and add a should pad on the strap.With that said, for the price and workmanship you cannot go wrong. Some review mentioned corroded buckles etc. I found none of that. The piece is rugged and well made. If you want soft delicate leather this is not for you. I also don't like that the excess material on the strap slides around and bunches up.
