This one has slightly more capacity than the original battery and works fine for me so far. Had it for months at this point. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tight Fit *by C***G on September 2, 2018* I bought this battery because I thought my sons 5 yr 3ds XL was not holding a charge. However, the problem was something different. It had to do with the cable inside the system that when extending the screen 180 degrees or closing the lid, it would immediately shut down. It is a known problem (known to me after extensive googling) and has a quick fix of not opening the lid 180 degrees and saving progress before closing the lid. Before buying this battery, you might want to check if you have this problem first.To the battery... The battery is exactly was is described but should have a little bit more in its description. 1. The battery is slightly thicker. The thickness is not a problem and will fit in the battery well. i.e. there is no bulge when closing the bottom cover. 2. It is so every slightly longer. This is a minor problem because it does not drop in the battery well with like the original battery. You will need to use a plastic pry tool to leverage it into the well. To me it was a little worrisome because I didn't want to break the system by forcing the battery in. However with a little coaxing, it went in. So far, the battery has worked fine. No sudden fires, over heating, or smell of ozone. Does it last longer because of the 1800mAh, I can't say but I son can play on his 3DS XL all day >8 hours without having to recharge. ### ⭐ Battery works, but not well *by T***D on May 15, 2020* Battery dies after just a few hours. May have been defective. May be the battery in general. Last less than the one I replaced. If you want a battery that lasts a few hours this is fine. It fits and works.
