The volume won't be loud enough to shake the room, but it is very comfortable for listening with a couple of people in a room. The built-in speaker box has a great balance of highs and mids. The bass is plenty enough for the variety of music I enjoy, but if you play super bass-heavy tracks, you might want to add some external speakers or subs using either bluetooth or through the RCA hook ups. The player looks fantastic just about anywhere you put it. Very classic in appearance, but easy to use. The auto stop feature when an album side is finished is great too, in case you leave the room or are distracted while playing. The only caution I would share is that the lid can get in the way and the records can rub on it if you try to raise the lid while an album is spinning.
