More beautiful even than Michell's "Islamic Architecture of Deccan India" , to which this is a beautiful companion piece. My sole note regards the paper: the former volume is printed on glossy stock, and while "Temples of Deccan India" is printed on equally high quality paper, it uses semigloss stock, so its images have roughly 20-30% less color saturation and overall visual "depth" than those of its predecessor. Given the overall quality of the images though, and that this effect is dramatically lessened by using bright, diffuse, daylight-spectrum light to read by (which I always do), this is close to a non-issue. This is now one of my most prized books; as you can see, I've already copiously annotated it (and applied a Brodart dust jacket protector after stretching the binding).
