I feel like this shade did well at keeping the hot sun from increasing the temperature in my vehicle. My leather seats were not hot when I get in the car. The shade covers my suv very well. When opening up the shade it does help to tuck it under your rearview mirror first and then open the shade. For me, the "open button" facing down seems to be the easier way to open/place it. (no strap in front that way) It holds in place very well. It folds up well and stores easily. The sleeve that comes with it is nice but it takes a bit more time to use the sleeve. It is easier for me to just tuck it under the seat.
