The clamps suck and loose their grip. Mine fell out of the holder, shorted out and caught my trunk on fire. Burned the jump pack, the contents of my trunk, carpet, and damn near burned my car to the ground! Strong and will start a large V8 engine with plenty of power left. I have left it plugged in for months at a time with no harm, however I agree that bringing it to a full charge and then unplugging it seems best. It will hold a full charge for months. I am ordering an additional one and hope it is still made the same as my original. This unit has plenty of power to jump any battery very quickly and it's very easy to use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 3 years later still going strong UPDATE (Good) *by H***A on 3 July 2013* I've had this 3 years and have started many cars (mine and other folks). A few weeks ago my car battery started dying and I used this to jump it 3 times. I keep it in the car and the car gets very hot and very cold but it always works. Sure I know it's best to keep it indoors and It'll have more starting power available BUT that's not as handy as keeping it in a Styrofoam cooler which kind of helps a bit with the daily temp swings in the car. Bottom line is, this works and is still working 3 years later. It has Never failed to work. It still charges to full and I know if my car sits out in the cold without starting for a couple of weeks (airport travel) this will save me. Very good product! UPDATE: It's been almost '4 years' since I purchased this and have use it about 12 times and it's still going strong. I keep it in the car trunk but the temperature doesn't seem to bother it and it still charges to 100% I check the charge about every 6 Months if I haven't used it. Good insurance.
