Review: This is an excellent product. - This is an excellent product. It is solid, well made, beautiful, functional, and for my needs corrosion resistant. While my intended use does not require a lock, others do. Some of them have criticized the hasp by noting that (as it is delivered) the bolt can be unscrewed, thus twisting off the bolt and opening the hasp. This is certainly true, but it is by no means a fundamental flaw, and it is easily remedied with a drop of thread lock cement before installation. See, for example, "Loctite Heavy Duty Threadlocker, 0.2 oz, Blue 242, Single" available from desertcart, or almost as good, a drop of super glue. It is further noted that even if the bolt were welded to the retaining screw, 'time honored' burglar methods such as use of a pry bar would probably be just as fast as twisting off a lock. From my perspective, this hasp is not intended to be a burglar proof method of securing a door, and it is a perfectly fine product for ordinary hasp applications. In a final note, I want to express the highest praise for the seller, "Marine Parts Depot". My order was sent by USPS mail with tracking. Postal Service Tracking reported that my order had been delivered, but by mistake it had not been delivered to me. After it became clear that I would not be receiving the order right away, I contacted Marine Parts Depot via email through desertcart. Marine Parts Depot responded IMMEDIATELY apologizing for the loss and shipping me a replacement. They did this without waiting for the USPS to track down the problem. This hasp is a great product sold by an exceptionally responsive and customer-oriented seller. Buy it with confidence (and if you want a little extra security, during installation apply a drop of super glue or thread lock to the screw holding the bolt).
Review: Alright if you need to lock a very small door - never realized you need to buy screws for the set.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Total length of the hasp? The listing says 2.95" but some reviewers suggest otherwise.**
A: The measurement of the hasp when closed is 3 1/16" (78mm). Open it spans 3 1/2" (89mm). The latch portion is 1" (25.5mm). The entire width of the latch is 1" (25.5mm)

Hope this is helpful.

**Q: how much does this stick out from the cabinet (depth?) I want to lock a drawer that is inside a cabinet so only have a small amount of clearance**
A: You may be better off with a "cylinder lock". Drill a hole, screw in place, and when you open with the key; a small latch turns to the side allowing the drawer to open. Amazon sells different types. they come in different sizes too.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the lock section -base-? (The little hoop section)**
A: The lock base is 1" X 1" that tapers down to 3/4"

**Q: Will a regular master combination lock fit in this item?**
A: I bought this hasp for use with the M175XDLF Master Lock - a fairly large lock with a 3/8" hexagonal shackle. Shackle wouldn't quite fit through the hasp eye, so I drilled the eye out with a 3/8" bit (max speed, slow feed). Works fine, although since the stainless finish inside the eye is removed now, time will tell how much corrosion I get.
