A good whack, say 45 degrees back would probably go well over 50 yards . From my point of view, I bought it for chipping from about 20 yards, the attraction being its flat sole that wouldn't dig into the ground, but I have to say that it is poorly balanced and you have to fight to keep it on plane. **Q: Is the black or green head an aesthetic choice or is there a functional difference?** A: Hi, it's aesthetic. The important thing is to decide what distance you want to use it from so you can decide on which loft. I got the lower loft but I might have been better with a higher loft for nearer the green. **Q: How far can you hit it** A: Hi.
