There is no temperature control at all, so be careful when using. You will need to have an ironing board as the protective cloth is more for protecting items from sticking to the iron as you use it. In the photos you’ll see that the fire tv remote is much larger than the iron. The coaster beneath the iron in the photos is a 4” square. The cute little watermelon slice is like a trivet in protecting surfaces from heat damage, but be sure the iron is upright on its base instead of on the metal when resting it on it. All in all this is highly compact, easy to transport and a huge space saver.
