Measure where in is threaded. Length and width. **Q: Would this work for a hot water urn?** A: Hmmm…….it works great for cold water but my inclination is to say, no, I don’t think it would work well as a hot water tap. The gasket that seals it may fail with repeated hot water flow and I am not sure that the plastic in the tap itself is hot water rated. Heart may cause some plastics to bleed chemicals over time and personally I would not chance it. Finally the spigot/spout broke at the hinge. Looking for a replacement I thought I'd give this one a shot. They work, but I'm not crazy about them. The biggest issue is the flow rate is about 2/3 of the original, which is just slow enough to be frustrating in comparison to what we were used to. The build quality feels cheap. By design, flip it one way, towards the crock and 5 gallon jug, and it locks in the open position. Push it down toward the vessel you're filling and it flows manually. You can kind of make it flow a little faster in the downward position by pushing firmly, BUT I always feel like I might break it with too much pressure. Also the included gaskets did not inspire confidence, so I just repurposed the originals I had. No leaks so far that I can tell from either the seal, or the flow mechanism.I will look elsewhere when these fail, or I get too frustrated with the flow rate.For what it's worth, I might be wrong about this, but it appears companies set up quick shops on Amazon, then switch to a new name and sell the same thing, probably trying to avoid bad reviews. This particular item is no longer in stock and the company that originally sold me this, not too long ago, has ZERO inventory of anything.
