Floats smooth and feels solid; even despite the less-than-professional tilting baseplate. Last time I saw a head that had this 90-degree feature, it was on a rickety old tripod that I barely trust my Cybershot on!This one, however, feels very sturdy and can lock tightly into place. I'd feel safe using it to get portrait-orient photos with my A7S.Only reason I took a star off is because the baseplate feels a tad cheap, and the very top of the handle isn't quite flush with the head/body. No, I didn't expect a Monfrotto-level baseplate at this price, but still is a great upgrade for the price point :D ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A genuine bargain. *by T***E on Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2017* The dampening is surprisingly smooth and the Arca Swiss compatible feature is a big plus.
