My living situation necessitates an all-indoor antenna farm, with the loop positioned about 60 feet from the shack. Between the distance, wanting to squeeze every bit of performance from the 1788's less-efficient lower bands (30/40m), and the need to slink the cable around corners (physical flexibility required), I opted to upgrade from rg-58 to rg-213 cabling. Double shielding definitely helped reduce the alternator noise. Also noticed increased receiver sensitivity on my CRE8900 coupled with a 5-foot Firestik 2 FS5 antenna placed in back of my 3rd gen 4Runner via drifter mount. SWR remains unaffected @ 1.2:1 midband and 1.3:1 at the edges.
