" Convenient, Portable & Effective LOCTITE® 263™ is a red, dual cure, acrylic dimethacrylate ester fluorescent threadlocker designed for the permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners. It cures between close fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration. It works on active metals (e.g. brass, copper) and passive substrates such as stainless steel and plated surfaces. Perfect for temperatures between -65°F - 360°F (-54°C - 182°C). LOCTITE® 263™LOCTITE® 263™ is particularly suited for heavy duty applications such as studs into motor housings, nuts onto studs in pump housings and other fasteners where high strength is required. LOCTITE® 263™ provides robust curing performance. It not only works on active metals (e.g. brass, copper) but also on passive substrates such as stainless steel and plated surfaces. The product offers high temperature performance and oil tolerance. It tolerates minor surface contaminations from various oils, such as cutting, lubrication, anti-corrosion and protection fluids."

**Q: Why is this labeled as a primerless thread locker? Literally the first step on the package instructions is to prep your surface with a primer.**
A: Loctite 263 is actually primerless on most metals. This is an automotive aftermarket package, and there is a Klean 'n' Primer product sold that is usually suggested for all anaerobic products. You can just clean the parts with alcohol or acetone. No primer is required.

**Q: Does Loctite 263 have a limited shelf life?**
A: Yes, Loctite 263 threadlocker has a limited shelf life of 730 days from the date of manufacture. This means that it is important to check the expiration date on the product before using it. If the product is expired, it may not perform as expected.

**Q: Approximately how many 1/4" studs can be set with the 6m tube?**
A: For small threads, we typically recommend applying 1 big drop (or 2 drops small/medium drop max) to the male threads at the engaging area, vs the female thread in the hole in a blind.  The idea is to ensure a good coverage in the engaging/mating area of the nut and bolt.  For 1/4" bolt, I estimate 200 bolts with a 6ml tube, of a manual application from the bottle.
