Move dirt, sand and gravel with the articulated blade and take control of any job site! From one generation to the next, TONKA is the rite of passage playtime that carries meaning, creates memories and is built to withstand the toughest of play. Review: Epic Tonka! - The Tonka Steel Classics Bulldozer is everything you want in a toy truck — rugged, heavy‑duty, and ready for hours of play. The mix of real steel and sturdy plastic gives it a satisfying weight and durability that kids (and parents) love. My little one grabs this thing every chance they get, whether it’s cruising through the living room carpet or pushing around dirt and sand outside. The bright yellow design is iconic and instantly recognizable, and the big blade in front really works — it scoops and pushes with ease, just like a real construction vehicle. It’s simple enough for toddlers to enjoy but still fun for older kids who like imaginative play. What I appreciate most is that this isn’t a flimsy toy — it feels built to survive the rough play that inevitably happens with trucks like this. If you’re looking for a timeless, hardworking toy that kids will come back to again and again, this Tonka bulldozer is a home run! And NO batteries! Review: Can't beat Genuine Tonka Quality - Not all steel, plastic parts underneath, but alot of steel. These are close copies to the ones I had when I was a kid, those were all steel though. I bought this for my grandsons to play with and they like them. ## Features - Over 75 Years of Play: Tonka toys are proudly passed down through generations for over 75 years. What's the blade on this "classic" toy made of?** A: I grew up with the metal ones too, and was hoping these new 'metal' Tonkas were a revival. Sadly, they're not. They've got just enough metal that they can use the word, but all of the actual digging/scraping/plowing parts on all of them are cheap plastic where you would naturally expect the durability of metal. In spite of what the manufacturer's rep claims in his response, these toys are NOT able to withstand realistic play in dirt and sand...and they've all pretty much been crap since 2000. I really find the idea that a thick durable metal blade is somehow less safe than the cheap thin (often sharp) plastic found on these toys absurd. **Q: Is the entire toy meter or steel except the rubber wheels and steering wheel** A: The Cab, Main Frame (Chassi) and Motor Cover are all Steel. The wheels are plastic due to modern toy testing regulations but tested for high quality durabilty & strength. (The wheels are not built to be submerged into water for long periods of time, just an FYI.) Hope this helps you but contact Basic Fun for anymore specific info! Stay Tonka tough & let's play. - Your Friends at Basic Fun **Q: I had Tonka trucks as a kid, & my younger sibs had others. But the paint chipped & they rusted. Is paint more durable & metal parts rust-resistant?** A: Thank you for your inquiry on Basic Fun manufactured Tonka trucks. Tonka trucks have been manufactured by Basic Fun since the year 2020 (previous Tonka trucks were manufactured at other toy companies) at specific Chinese toy factories that comply with all toy and safety testing regulations set forth by ASTEM Toy testing guidelines. We test to the strictest quality and safety standards, ensuring that your child has a successful, trouble-free toy playing experience. With proper storage & care, your Tonka truck should last a life-time without rust. This would be the responsibility of the owner of the truck to store properly when not in play. If you have any further questions regarding Basic Fun Tonka Trucks, please email us at on our Basic Fun company website & enjoy! (We are not permitted to post URL's on this page.) Stay TONKA TOUGH - LET'S PLAY! - Your Friends at Basic Fun **Q: Is the blade metal?** A: The Tonka Steel Classics Road Grader that I ordered and received in September 2021 has a plastic blade on it. The main body of the Grader is metal. There are metal rods (underneath plastic) for axles connecting the wheels and a metal rod for the movement of the blade but the blade itself is plastic. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Epic Tonka! *by B***N on December 23, 2025* The Tonka Steel Classics Bulldozer is everything you want in a toy truck — rugged, heavy‑duty, and ready for hours of play.
