When pressing the buzzer against the car's chassis, the sound can be a about as loud the loudest cell phone ringer but it all depends on the mounting surface. IOW, the buzzer is vibrating the mounting surface.The problem is that there are just two tiny holes on the sides for mounting and one would have to drill tiny holes into the car's chassis to screw the buzzer to the chassis. I don't know how to drill tiny (maybe about 1/16 inch holes) into steel. Maybe gluing the buzzer might work but then the glue might dampen the sound or the buzzer might fall off due to the buzzer's vibration.Disappointed with the performance of this buzzer.EDIT: Decided to change from 3 stars to 1 star to let folks know how this buzzer actually works.
