Thin seedlings to 12 inches apart when they are 4 inches tall. Choose the strongest-looking seedling and cut the rest to the ground with garden scissors. Set a cage around each seedling. **Q: What do they taste like**
A: they taste like cucumber with a hint of lime

**Q: What are the zones for this plant?**
A: It's actual name is Mexican sour gherkin, which probably would have made finding out a bit easier.
They grow in zones 2-11, so almost anywhere. They're a perennial, and that 2-11 range doesn't hold so well here. I grow in containers (no choice, I butt up against a protected wetlands with a 250 acre regional park less than a 2 minute walk in the other direction, so what doesn't get eaten gets trampled if it's in the ground) and because all my plantings are above ground anything that is susceptible to hard freezing won't survive the winter. If this isn't a problem for you then look up mexican sour gherkin for steps the steps that will help them come back. (Sorry I'm no help on that, but I quit looking when I saw the part about the ground freezing solid)

**Q: How long do these take to germinate? Seeds received on 3/30 and planted same day in seed starter under a 12 hour grow light on a heat mat. Nothing!**
A: Our first seeding did not take. The package says 10 days. We are going to replant,....

**Q: Can I plant these in a container indoors with a grow light?**
A: I try growin. In a seed try to tranfer to the groun. But they never came up bad seed. Not work gettin is a waste off money and time. They come from china.

These grow like weeds and have lots of little cucumbers. Fun to pick and eat straight off the vine. In salad and make tasty little pickles too. Only draw back they like lots of room to spread out.
