Kinda really good. I like that you can never really see the main character's face. I've never really seen that done before. And then there's the stuff about walking from one place to another--Patrick Kyle does something really cool in this book with that. The landlord character is ultra-mint. Yes, there's even a Simpsons bit it is super meta but in a really cool sort of (not-really-that-meta) way. I didn't think I would like the book. I only bought it because it was <$10 for a brand new book that just came out! I had never really heard of Patrick Kyle until this book. Looked to me like it was going to be abstract art + comics/graphic novel-stuff + a story that makes no sense. The story actually makes sense. And the presentation honestly, is probably one of my favorite comics/graphic novels I have read in a long while. I would read a little bit each night before I went to bed. Easy to follow. You could read this all in 2 hours or less. I am slow at reading though, and looking at images. If you REALLY look at what's going on here though, you could be reading/looking at this book for 6+ months. I just might buy another Patrick Kyle book. Excellent stuff. Heartily recommended!

Black and white is a great medium for Kyle's work, and each page stands as a well-balanced visually pleasing piece of art by itself. How long it takes you to read it is really up to you, but I found it to be a nice quick, meditative read. You can see their modernist influences in the work. As much of a piece of art as a readable comic book.

At $13.87 after s&h, I overpaid for this by quite a lot. It's very much in the minimalist vein; and while some graphic novels with this style have re-readability, I don't think this one does. Returns a hassle...You probably don't want this unless you really REALLY enjoy this guy's work.[edit: 2 stars to 3. I have enjoyed flipping through this every so often. Still overpaid.]
