Still throw in the wash but they don’t seem to “hold” dirt and stains as a cotton dishcloth. Cleaner than sponges and more economical so you don’t need to toss frequently. I've been using the first one out of the package for weeks now. It's not necessarily better than my cloth dishcloth, but it's certainly as good and has many, many uses. It can be thrown in the laundry and used afterwards with no evident ill effect. Better than a sponge.
