A: While you could, it may not deliver the sound you’re looking for. The set of 5 speakers is designed for a 5 channel surround sound audio system usually used for television theater settings. Your Sony receiver only has two channels

A: I would expect it does.  These speakers can handle 300watts.

**Q: I need to use speaker enclosures to protect the speakers from attic insulation.   What speaker enclosures are recommended for this product?**
A: An enclosure *could* be beneficial to improve sound quality, but I run these open-air / without an enclosure behind the speaker and am constantly impressed by their sound quality. I also plan to install more of these in another room and have no plans to add enclosures there either.
