The collar is a nice quality. I don’t think I’m ever going to actually wear it, but it didn’t seem stiff as other reviewers mentioned. The lace has a nice weight & is soft & floppy. I thought it might be too stiff… like tulle but that was not the case. Looks much more expensive than it was.I purchased the lace collar for our ride on the African Queen (the REAL one, now in Key Largo), sharing the same space occupied by Bogart and Hepburn. Thrilling. I had been looking so forward to the experience and was afraid I would be disappointed, as often happens when one's expectations are high. We had a wonderful day and all kinds of happy memories.Honestly, I would rather have had a real Victorian blouse, but that is in the $30-40 range at least. This overlay worked for my purposes. It was comfortable. There was some difficulty in the top of the collar folding over onto the black velvet choker (as opposed to standing up stiff), but it worked for me. Keep in mind that the shipping takes about a month. You have to wait for those great prices. You would think the shipping alone would cost the price of the lace overlay. Also, don’t punish the lace collar because I am overweight and don’t quite look like Katharine Hepburn! ☺ If someone is pleased enough to post their photo here in the hope of assisting someone else with their purchases, they obviously look better than they usually do. You have to compare the ‘before’ and ‘after’ for the average person, not the Kardashians.
