What is EquiShure? EquiShure is a digestive health supplement designed for horses suspected of suffering from or at risk for hindgut acidosis. Patented encapsulation technology ensures targeted release directly in the hindgut. Research supports the use of a hindgut buffer in cases of high grain and high fructan intake. Up to 70% of the horse’s energy is derived from fermentation in the hindgut. The pH of the hindgut varies as bacterial populations increase and decrease in response to dietary modifications. An acidic shift, which can be caused by carbohydrate-rich meals, favors the growth of acid-loving bacteria, while other microbes die in the same conditions. Changes in the pH of the hindgut due to alterations in the microbial populations and acid profiles cause a condition known as subclinical acidosis, which can put affected horses at a higher than normal risk for colic and laminitis. Review: Equisure surely did help - I started my 12 year old gelding on Equisure after he colicked 5 times in 6 months, with no prior history. I got my first bucket from my vet, and started using it. That was several months ago, and he has not colicked again since I began using the product. It is sodium bicarbonate and oil, two over the counter simple things, but it comes in a powder form, that is palatable for my horse, and he eats it, even though it tastes salty. I ordered my 2nd bucket from desertcart. Even with shipping costs, it was less than what the Vet charged, and it saved me a trip to pick it up, or a barn charge, for it to be delivered to me. I don't know how long he needs to stay on it, but it is much cheaper than the 5 Vet bills!!!!
Review: This product is a lifesaver! - I have two horses on this product for going on two years now and I credit it for saving both of them. One had chronic, horrific (all day long, every day) diarrhea that we didn't discover until after we bought him and brought him home. We already had the other one on this product for sugar metabolizing issues that kept resulting in founder. The foundered horse has (knock on wood) not ever foundered again and we are able to turn him out on daily grass pasture with due caution and care as long as he is on EquiShure. The diarrhea victim, however, is the really miraculous story. We tried everything to help him before the light bulb finally went on and we gave him some of this miracle powder. We also eventually added Uckele GUT to the mix and the diarrhea completely went away. EquiShure is expensive, but it's keeping my horses alive and healthy and I can't thank KER enough for it.

I started my 12 year old gelding on Equisure after he colicked 5 times in 6 months, with no prior history. I got my first bucket from my vet, and started using it. That was several months ago, and he has not colicked again since I began using the product. It is sodium bicarbonate and oil, two over the counter simple things, but it comes in a powder form, that is palatable for my horse, and he eats it, even though it tastes salty. I ordered my 2nd bucket from Amazon. Even with shipping costs, it was less than what the Vet charged, and it saved me a trip to pick it up, or a barn charge, for it to be delivered to me. I don't know how long he needs to stay on it, but it is much cheaper than the 5 Vet bills!!!!
