It cooks really fast, even on mostly cloudy days. There is nothing like sun cooked food. I found carbon steel loaf pans and cut them down to fit the tube. How long does it take to get hot?** A: It took a while but I was able to boil water It was also ok a very hot sunny day **Q: What material is the vacuum tubes inner lining?** A: The whole tube is heat treated glass (i.e. like your Pyrex cooking dishes) inside and out. The dark color is a coating that is applied to the inner side of the tube that absorbs light and then transfers that to a layer of copper, then to the glass. Think of it like a transparent thermos that gets hot in the sun. I have a few of this style oven and bought this one for my best man at my wedding. It was nicer than the ones I use (Gosun Sport and my own homebrew with a similar large tube) and seems to work well based on his feedback. **Q: It looks like disposable mini loaf pans are ok to use inside , but would silicone mini loaf pans work as well? I want to be able to reuse the pans.** A: Glad to help you, the accessory comes with 10 disposable tin foil pans. If your silicone mini loaf pans is suitable for microwave ovens, it can work as well. **Q: Where are the exact instructions to boil water? Booklet was not specific on how to do it.** A: I just pour the water into one of the tinsel that came with it. I also use the silicone bread pans I purchased separately. You have to be cautious when taking the hot water trays out bc it does get very hot. If I find a better way to do it, I will update. My God, it cooks the chicken before the tempeture gets to 250F... It gives you big portion of food for two... As for cleaning, it is extremely easy, I could put my entire arm, up to my shoulder in the tube with enough room to move my hand and arm around to wipe or wash it after using... I really don't know why people were writing about how difficult it is to clean. I really hope it works during the winter as in Canada we have the long ones.. Planing to buy another one in a month or two....
