Review: Using for our foster supplies. Great w/out toxic odor. Buy spray nozzle for easy application. - We foster kittens and use this to clean their space and reusable items between litters. It's easy to use, has no odor and is also recommended by our shelter. I never re-use play toys or cardboard scratching pads and always send them with the kitten to their new home. This means my next kitten(s) get brand new toys of their own, and I also feel that sending my fosters to their new forever homes with familiar toys of their own helps them adjust. I wash whatever items are washable (blankets, beds, and all food and litter items), but there are certain things that you just cannot wash (ie enclosure panels, playpen, play mats, felt tunnels, cat tree . . . ). The effectiveness on fabrics is not guaranteed so for soft or fabric items that cannot be tossed in the wash, I do a double disinfection process. I first wipe down with a disinfecting wipe (like a Clorox wipe) then I spray with Rescue and let dry. I completely discard if my fosters have been ill or soiled the items badly, but if they were healthy kittens just playing on the cat tree, I feel that doing a double disinfect with the Clorox wipe followed by the Rescue sufficiently disinfects. If you let it dry on most things, it dries without a trace, but I do find that if I let it completely dry on clear items like my enclosure panels, it does leave a visible film behind. I just spray and wait till it completely dries for optimal disinfecting, then I wipe the panels down again using a disinfecting glass cleaner like Windex Multi-Surface Disinfectant Glass Cleaner. This not only gets rid of the streaks, but provides a second disinfecting step too. Residue streaks are only visible on clear items (like our enclosure panels). On any other items/surfaces, residue isn't visible at all so it's just a matter of spraying well, then letting the Rescue dry - - no need to wipe off at all. This bottle does not come with a spray nozzle and the following nozzles are a perfect fit and spray well. Review: Love it and trust it — I’ll keep buying it. - My vet recommended Rescue Concentrate when I asked what they use to disinfect exam rooms. Been using it ever since. Bleach water (8–10%) works too and costs less, but it’s rough on some surfaces, smells bad, and takes longer to dry. Rescue smells kind of like hydrogen peroxide, but it evaporates quickly — faster than water, though not as fast as isopropyl. I spray it everywhere: floors, cabinets, doors, rugs, even my leather couch. Tested it first on old rugs, and it didn’t stain or fade anything. I’ve got chickens and sometimes board dogs. Works great around the coop and patio (when they’re out), and it actually helps with odors. It’s not Febreze, but outdoors it kills that dog and chicken smell way better than expected. It’s my go‑to cleaner for daily use. If an animal gets sick or a new dog visits, I break out Virkon S — more heavy‑duty, but also harsher. For everything else, Rescue Concentrate is safe, simple, and solid for everyday cleaning.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this safe to use outside on grass, on carpet and laundry?**
A: Because it is hydrogen peroxide, it can fade clothing, but I use this every day (I operate a parrot rescue) in large quantities, and I have only found one spot on one black t-shirt where I spilled the concentrated form. Once diluted (we use it at its highest concentration of 8oz/gallon of water), I have had no signs of damage to clothing. One area where I use it on cages has grass, roses, and magnolia trees. I have seen no damage whatsoever to any of the vegetation, but I did damage an aluminum cage by spraying it with Accel and letting it sit for the prescribed 5 minutes. It mentions not using it on anodized aluminum, so I was thinking the cookware, but it left white markings on the cage.

**Q: Will it kill ringworm on laundry and surfaces? Does it have to be rinsed off before an animal can access a surface or bedding treated with it?**
A: Back in 2015 jessie v said “bedding should be thrown out unless it can be washed in bleach and dried and gas dryer.”
That is now known not to be accurate. Sufficient water alone will remove ringworm in laundry. Bleach is not needed and can be caustic. If fur remains wash again or do two rinses (which we always do anyway due to the dumb water saving HE washing machines that won’t fill with enough water. And obviously, a gas dryer isn’t needed to dry - electric is just as good!

**Q: What is the formula to dilute it? For instance how much water to a cup of concentrated Accel? Thanks in advance for your answer.**
A: What's interesting is if you go read the MSD sheet, this is just 4.25% hydrogen peroxide. Now according to Rescue, they have also added a cleaning agent to help break down soil, but that does nothing for disinfecting. If my math is correct, even at their strongest mix (8oz per gallon of water) this comes out to only 0.25% hydrogen peroxide. This is very weak. You can buy Lysol 32oz bottles of hydrogen peroxide that are less than $4 and have 0.88% hydrogen peroxide (that's over 3 times as strong) and already mixed for you. Even better than that, you can find 34% hydrogen peroxide 1 gallon bottles for cheaper than the 1 gallon rescue bottles and make significantly more. Lastly, you can get 3% hydrogen peroxide 32 oz bottles for $1.25 at most local grocery stores. You could buy 1 gallon of distilled water for $1, and 32 ounces of 3% hydrogen peroxide for $1.25, mix all of it together, and for $2.25 have over a gallon of disinfectant that is significantly stronger than Rescue at even it's strongest concentration. Also 3% hydrogen peroxide has a 99% kill rate of protozoan such as giardia, coccidia, and cryptosporidium when left in contact for 10 minutes or more. This has been scientifically tested in labs. Rescue claims to kill these at their strongest concentration but even admits it's based on "anecdotal evidence" and is NOT proven. I highly recommend you buy 34% hydrogen peroxide and dilute it down to 6% using distilled water and use this solution if you are dealing with coccidia. Also once diluted, this needs to be used up in the next 90 days. Also if possible, store the 34% hydrogen peroxide in a refrigerator as it will help keep it stabilized longer.

**Q: Can I spray this over my carpet?**
A: Unfortunately, we cannot recommend that you spray this on carpet, as this product should only be used on hard, non-porous surfaces.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent product
*by H***R on April 27, 2026*

Easy to use and doesn't have a strong odor. I love the fact that it doesn't need rinsing, and except on glass, it doesn't leave an apparent residue. I do have a complaint about the sprayer included with the bottles though; it doesn't produce a nice, even mist; instead, the liquid comes out in a mixture of mist and globs. Not enough to lower the rating, though; I just use a third-party sprayer.
