And best part after a frost the deer can’t leave them alone Review: Great product - Planted in upstate SC, mostly red clay soil. Added some lime and 10-10-10 fertilizer. Once it got established in about 4-6 weeks, I added some more nitrogen to it. Nothing very scientific to what I did, just a few bags of lime, fertilizer and 2 of nitrogen high fertilizer. It didn't get any rain for about 7 days so it took some time to germinate. It is about 8-10" tall now and we just started getting frost on it which I think is when the deer started hitting it. Bare spots are mostly from turkeys that dusted in the plot. Will buy again and with more soil prep it will do better.
