They are made with real cedar wood, and have a cedar aroma. It is such a lovely scent! **Q: Does it catch the water. Looks like it would drip off and destroy the table.** A: Does not drip off unless the drink is super wet even then just be careful when lifting up your drink so droplets from the coaster don't fall on the table etc my advice to let the water fully dry on the coaster before moving the coaster in any way **Q: Are these coasters absorbent?** A: Yes! The cedar wood will absorb any condensation from your drinks so your tables stay dry and protected! **Q: How clean the oil residue? Does the oil return? Everything we have is wood and leather that we wouldnt want stained.** A: We have not experienced any type of oil residue. We are using them on our wood furniture and have not seen any staining. We love the look of them. They provide tiny stick-on pads for the bottoms (place on corners). These are totally giftable, but do get a set or two for yourself while you're at it. They do have that nice aromatic cedar scent to them, which is a plus, although not necessary. I might add that these wonderful handcrafted coasters are the right size for almost any of your canned or bottled beverages, and other drinking vessels as seen in the uploaded photos.Hope they give shoppers a better idea of coaster size. As for large base wine glasses? Ummmmmm?Might be cutting it kinda close for some of the larger wine glasses I've seen. But coasters are generally and primarily for cold items that form condesate and create liquid and moisture, and so therefore most wine glasses I've seen rarely form much or hardly any condesate.I bought these for a few reasons, and the main reason I was hoping for, was that they'd match our Juniper cocktail and end tables, and these matched perfectly. They actually disapear kinda, they blend in almost too good.
