Over all to the base of the hex would be 1/2". **Q: what is the difference between quick change and push type couplers?** A: On “push in” couplers the locking collar stays back when a tool is not inserted. To insert a tool all you need to do is push the tool into the coupler, unlike traditional couplers that you manual have to pull the collar back and insert the tool at the same time. To release the tool is the same for both, pull back on the collar and it spits the tool out.
