I had to reach down, grab my foot, pull up and hold my foot steady, and still I had a problem with these cutting my toe nails. They slipped off my nails w/o cutting. I may have accomplished a 'sliver' or so, but definitely not a clear, sharp cut off the top of any nail. Not very comfortable to hold. In my opinion they seem a little thin or not really high quality. Or my toe nails have become bionic somehow. I'm still on the search for a great toe nail cutter. I would not buy these again. The scissor part seems way to short to me. If I have to pull my entire leg into my lap to reach my toe nails, what is the point then.
