## Description

The art of Bunka Shishu is a Japanese form of punch needle embroidery developed about sixty years ago from the European form of punch needle. The main difference between Bunka and the usual punch needle is that Bunka stitches are worked from the finished side of the picture, so you can see the design developing as you stitch. Bunka embroidery is a bit like a paint by number kit using thread instead of paint. Details of this kit: Design area - 11.8" X 15.7" or 30 x 40cm (Size 3) Flower Window #174 Designed and made in Japan Includes design screenprinted onto fabric Includes numbered skeins of rayon thread to correspond to design Colored picture of design with details on reverse as to color placement Japanese instructions (but chart is numbered for threads) ​Experience level of this kit - Intermediate Tools/Frames are sold separately (not included in kit)
