I've had a magnetic band before and liked it very much. However this one is silicon and even more comfortable. The pin size seems adequate. I'm using it on a large smartwatch and have tested it's ability to stay on thoroughly. I've shook my arm as hard as I could. Even loosened the band up quite a bit and shook hard. I cannot get this thing to come loose no matter what. Plus, I've been wearing it all day, everyday for nearly two weeks and I haven't come even close to knocking it off. I have a 7" wrist and got the small size, fits with about a 1.5" overlap. It takes a little practice to get the band to connect (pop together) at the tightness you want, but it gets easier.
