So they can be flush without breaking wires off?** A: These are designed to have a hole for the wire's to pass through so the light can get flush amounted. And they work very well that way. That being said it may be possible to make a small notch for the wire's to lay in and pass to the outside or, if the two sides tape is thick enough you may be able to cut a groove for the wire's to lay inside and exit the fixtures. Hope this helps **Q: can I use it under water in my boat** A: I do not think these are rated for underwater use, i did see several that were while shopping for these. **Q: How do you turn them on and off?** A: You wire them to a power source and install a switch, basic and simple. **Q: How do you run the wire to the center console ?** A: Will need to run them to a fused switch. I created a waterproof switch box and mounted rocker panels into the box. Ran 8 gauge wire from battery to a new fuse box and then wired into the rocker panel.
