### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ EXCELLENT costume-robe; BELIEVE the size-chart!
*by on Reviewed in the United States June 26, 2026*

I typically wear a men's 3X shirts because I like a loose fit, and so haven't bought a Large in decades—and was very skeptical of the sizing chart for this. The advice of the provided chart, and of so many reviewers, was VERY helpful.Specifically, I am 5'6" tall, 230lbs, and the Large was, indeed, the perfect length for me; the hem of the robe brushes the tops of my feet exactly like I hoped it would, and the hem of the sleeves brush my knuckles exactly like I hoped they would; as expected, it's not as loose in the middle as I would like, but I'm pleasantly surprised that it does at least fully close in front without a humiliating struggle. I simply like clothes to have an oversized fit; and of course aspire to just fit cloths better, in general. And yes, the material is surprisingly heavy-duty for $12. It feels and looks similar to suit fabric, similar to a favorite kind that I used to buy off the bolt at Jo~Ann's fabric stores for about $7/yd, though I forget by which name it was marketed. Definately polyester, of course, not wool or cotton, but GOOD polyester that seems resistant to both snags and wrinkles, as well as DEFINATELY MATTE textured, NOT shiny. Now for a lore rant. :)Proceed at your own risk of boredom. It's only June and I'm already looking ahead to Halloween plans with some friends, however there's a secondary, much goofier purpose for this robe—and that is adapting my old Kenjutsu training to a new lightsaber-dueling hobby. Wow, that wasn't a thing when I was a kid; with due sympathy for the embarrassment that poor, completely relatable lad suffered, all my generation had was a deeply embedded fear of being the next Star Wars Kid. IMPO, he didn't need counseling—he needed real martial-arts lessons, to have made a glorious comeback as a bonafide BA.Come on, y'all—it's just twirling sticks, not MacGuyvering hyperdrive-motivators. Stop being intimidated. Life's too short to feel embarrassed for the rest of your life because you bonked yourself with a stick. "If he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat." 😜Of course I grew up with "Star Wars", but somehow the whole 'sci-fi dojo vibe' completely slipped past me until I encountered the Cal Kestis game series just last December. The "Star Wars" marketing crew really overlooked gold, for whole generations—I guess because it was administratively pre-determined that the Jedi Order was in the wrong, and that Anakin went down the jerk-path of means but was technically correct that the order had to end. Who still wants to play a Jedi already being told from the start that their character cannot embody monastic-warrior virtues, because the Light Side of the universe is fundamentally arrogant, and that Order 66 was actually justified even if its execution was ugly? The twist is that George Lucas himself was always in on this perspective, and IMO THAT'S why the late-stage "Star Wars" IP floundered. By accident, it seems, "Fallen Order" (etc) let-slip the way the Jedi Order ought to have been appreciated all along.Or, maybe, it's just the IRL Templar, Teutonic, & Reformation history I happened to be in the midst of reading at the time I played it, which gave the "Star Wars" universe a shocking 1:1 historical-reference for context. Without the laser-swords, of course, but even including telekinesis according to some Medieval soruces. Notably: the Medieval sources upon which the Jedi robes were based, including but not limited to the Franciscan Order of Spanish monks who were local, familiar IRL archetypes in 16th thru 20th Century California, near Hollywood. Any writer who wanted to take the fictional Jedi seriosuly needed only to pay a respectful visit to real, operational historical missions & monestaries in the geographical regions surrounding where these first "Star Wars" films were being made—a mere day's drive. As for me, I already had a treasured pile of traditional Japanese training swords and even a small pile of kimono/gi which I'd made myself a long time ago—now, merely the latest "sword" additions glow, and adding a cheap 'Space-kimono' to the collection was obviously the next level of escalation. It would delight me to mix "Star Wars" lore & historical events, at least in the words of their contemporary sources—and just let friends guess which well I'm drawing from. George Lucas may be the lord of lore, but Eastern "Bushido" & Western-monastic "Just-War" Theory are the open-source IRL proverbial-soil he planted his private lore-tree in.And there's no reason cosplay can't be educational as heck; IMO the real success of "Star Wars" was based in its vast cultural-resonace due to these borrowed story-elements, rather than to its romantic tensions and ever-graying pseudophilosophies that deliberately defied their historical roots as writing-material.Shop nerd robes, meet nerds. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯I hope you've enjoyed this detour.May the Force... inspire you.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Versatile, Great Quality, and Roomy
*by on Reviewed in the United States October 23, 2024*

I bought this for my 15yo son's Halloween costume, but also for the Sarasota Ren. Faire (if we get to go this year). He is 5'11", about 130lbs, and the Large was the perfect length for him, to his shoes. I imagine a larger/heavier adult would also have room in there, as it fit me at 160lbs, but a little long on my 5'7" self. The material is thick, like a curtain, so won't rip or pique like the thinner cloaks. The tie at the top is also sewn on pretty well, so will hold together better than others, too. He will be using a belt around the middle to keep it from flowing, but not necessary if your costume choice needs a flowing cloak... For the Ren Faire he wants it open. The one thing we didn't like was the over-sized hood, but I did see the pics and all, so not a surprise, but small price to pay for a the good material. I plan on folding it a bit and pinning, but again, maybe you want the big hood or want it down anyway.Overall, my son loves it, and that's what matters. Hope he gets use out of it a few times, and I know it will last a while.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quite nice for the price.

I was nervous about the item I might get due to mixed reviews, I did get the uniform materials version which was a relief, but the material is still a bit thin. It's okay, I'm using it for a pattern anyway and then will alter it for a festival robe. The XXL size is very big, sleeves are easily 6" beyond my finger tips, hood is proportinally large, and the length was about 10" too long but I am only 5'8" ~175lbs and plan to wear this over steel armor after alterations.Well worth the cost for me. It did arrive late, but it is what it is... There is no closure, so you will need to add one or use a belt or rope to tie it.Overall, it will function as it should! And the fabric, again, is quality - but sort of thin.
